Alyssa Alvarez on being SMB muse: “Ngayon parte na ako ng mundo ng daddy ko”

Paul “Bong” Alvarez had a colorful PBA career which spanned more than a decade.
The 4th overall pick of the 1989 draft was given the moniker “Mr. Excitement” due to his crowd-pleasing, high-flying and slam-dunking ways.
The San Sebastian College product started his career with the Alaska Aces, then called the Milkmen, and won his first and only championship during the 1991 Third Conference. He was traded to Sta. Lucia and also had stints with Formula Shell, San Miguel, Brgy. Ginebra and FedEx.
Last Sunday during the league’s opening ceremony for its 45th season, his daughter Alyssa returned to the hardcourt to serve as muse for the defending Philippine Cup champions.
“Sobrang excited! Dati nanonood lang ako pero ngayon parang naging parte ako ng mundo ng daddy ko,” revealed the 24-year old actress.
“I’m really happy. And pati yung daddy ko, na dito ako napunta. Kasi the year I was born, he was with San Miguel,” she added.
The elder Alvarez, however, wasn’t on hand to witness the momentous occasion.
“Sayang lang he couldn’t make it here. But he really wished he could’ve made it if he didn’t have work. Pero sobrang proud nga raw niya, sobrang saya niya raw for me.”
