Beermen set to return to practice on August 25

Defending Philippine Cup champion San Miguel is set to return to practice on Tuesday, August 25 at the Acropolis Gym.
Head coach Leo Austria bared that groups and schedules have already been finalized with the team’s 16 players divided into 4 depending on position. One member of the coaching staff will be present per session.
“Ayun ang ginawa namin, magkakasama yung guards tapos yung malalaki sila magkaka-group. For now ganun na muna kami, then we’ll see kung papaano sa mga susunod,” explained Austria.
This marks the first time that a PBA team will have its practice since league commissioner Willie Marcial called off the season last March 11 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first group of Beermen is composed of Marcio Lassiter, Terrence Romeo, Alex Cabagnot and Von Pessumal. Their session will start at 10am. The following group is scheduled at 11am and is composed of Mo Tautuaa, Russel Escoto and Billy Mamaril.
The 3rd group is scheduled at 12nn and is made up of Arwind Santos, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Bam Gamalinda and rookie Daniel de Guzman. The last session will start at 1pm with Chris Ross, Paul Zamar, Gelo Alolino and rookie Wendell Comboy comprising the group.
Austria will be in-charge of the first group while Peter Martin, Dayong Mendoza and Boysie Zamar will handle the second, third and fourth groups, respectively.
“Siguro mag-shuffle kaming mga coaches after 10 days, sa ngayon yan na ang schedule naming every other day. We’ll see kasi after two weeks I think another swab test uli,” said Austria.
