Beermen to sport retro jerseys in PBA restart
The San Miguel Beermen will be donning retro jerseys in the resumption of the 2020 Philippine Cup at the PBA bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
The players wore the throwback jerseys during a short video clip commemorating San Miguel Pale Pilsen’s 130th anniversary.
The defending champs, however, will use it only for select games and not for the duration of the shortened conference
San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla confirmed the development which drew cheers from the team’s fanbase since the current uniform has been around since the 2000 Governors’ Cup.
“Parang yung uniform lang ni coach Atom Bomb,” said Abanilla.
The jerseys still carried the old PBA patch and was worn by the Beermen, among them current assistant coach Ato Agustin and the ‘Skywalker’ Samboy Lim, during the 1990s.
The Beermen will be gunning for their 6th straight Philippine Cup title and 28th overall sans main man June Mar Fajardo and will be carrying a 1-0 record once the restart gets off the ground on October 11 at the Angeles University Foundation gym.
