Chris Ross playing hurt as injuries continue to hound San Miguel

The injury bug continues to bite San Miguel.
Already without main man June Mar Fajardo and premier scorer Terrence Romeo for the duration of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart due to health-related concerns, the defending champion Beermen are taking on their challengers without a 100% Chris Ross.
The 35-year old Fil-Am is currently battling an assortment of injuries, the latest of which is a sore right thumb which he sustained during the game against Terra Firma. The said injury prevented him from seeing action in the payoff period.
In addition, the Best Player of the 2017 Commissioner’s Cup is favoring his knee and foot which, according to team physical therapist Edward Bacason, was hurt during the game against TNT.
“Yung last game namin against TNT, nasaktan siya. Pero because he wants to help the team pinatuloy niya, naglaro siya kahit masama yung kanyang nararamdaman,” stressed head coach Leo Austria.
“Still salute to him because he was in uniform and naglaro. And kanina medyo nasaktan na naman siya sa kanyang finger,” he added.
Ross played through the pain against the Dyip and managed to contribute 2 points in 16 minutes of action. He shot 0-of-4 from the field, issued 4 assists and hauled down 2 boards as the Beermen picked up their second win of the conference to improve to 2-2.
