Dez Wells back in Asia as former SMB import signs with CBA’s Zhejiang Guangsha Lions

Former San Miguel import Dez Wells is back in Asia, not to play once more in the PBA but for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
The 27-year old American, who unceremoniously left the country after being involved in a scuffle with SMB teammates during practice last November 17 at the Upper Deck Gym in Pasig City, has reportedly agreed to play for the Chinese team which beat the Beermen in the battle for third place last September 22 in the Terrific 12 tournament of the East Asia Super League in Macau.
Wells dropped 33 points in a losing cause but his performance, apparently, did not totally go to waste as it caught the eye of the Lions management.
Dez displayed his incredible athleticism and scoring ability as he averages 30 ppg during #TheTerrific12. He posted 33 points in the third-place game against Zhejiang, which has caught the 👁 of the management.@_DezWells pic.twitter.com/FDdUAGi0av

The Beermen paraded John Holland in lieu of the temperamental import but couldn’t get past Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel in the quarterfinal round of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup. The defeat dealt a crushing blow to the triple-crown aspirations of the flagship team of the SMC group.
Aside from Wells, the other players who were involved in the fight which happened during the 30th birthday of main man June Mar Fajardo were Arwind Santos, Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong. The trio has since been slapped with an indefinite suspension by SMB management which is still in effect going into the holidays.
