GAB suspends SMB 3×3 player Daniel de Guzman’s pro license
The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) has blacklisted San Miguel Beermen 3×3 player Daniel De Guzman after he failed to show up in a video conference on Friday.
GAB has scheduled a Zoom conference for De Guzman, the 42nd pick of the 2019 draft, to explain his side on his alleged involvement with gambling and game-fixing activities. GAB chairman Baham Mitra informed that administrative proceedings will took place where the SMB player risks the possibility of losing his professional basketball license.
“He shall not be allowed to use his license in the meantime and if proven guilty, he may lose his professional basketball players license,” said Mitra.
De Guzman’s name was involved in a viral screenshot where a bettor appeared to communicate with the SMB player. De Guzman denied his involvement in the said issue.
The 30-year old cager has been assigned to the Beermen’s 3×3 team for this season but it appears that he may not be able to play at all following the government agency’s suspension order.
