Indefinite suspension still in effect for SMB’s troubled trio

For the San Miguel Beermen, the current PBA season will end with Arwind Santos, Kelly Nabong and Ronald Tubid’s indefinite suspension still very much in effect.
This update was bared by a top-ranking team official when asked about the status of the trio who were suspended by management last month after figuring in a scuffle during team practice along with former import Dez Wells.
Wells immediately left the country after the incident which forced the team to stick with temporary replacement John Holland for the remainder of the conference which unceremoniously ended in a loss to Brgy. Ginebra in the quarterfinal round.
The flagship team of the SMC group in the PBA, thus, saw its quest for the triple-crown derailed by no less than its sister team for the 2nd time in the last three years.
Team officials Robert Non and Gie Abanilla as well as head coach Leo Austria refused to shed more light on the status of their suspended players.
Curiously, the three were not in attendance for the Beermen during the recently concluded 2019 Rookie Draft which was held at Robinson’s Place Manila in Ermita last December 8.
