Jorge Gallent shrugs off Calvin Abueva taunt
San Miguel head coach Jorge Gallent refused to make a big issue of Magnolia’s Calvin Abueva’s actions during Game 2 of the PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
Abueva appeared to mock Gallent’s missing eye, which he lost in a motorcycle accident in 1988.
The two had gotten into a verbal confrontation during the game that led to double technical fouls. Afterwards, Abueva was seen on camera gesturing at his own eye to taunt Gallent about his disability.

“Na bulag daw ako,” said Gallent when pressed to comment on the cause of his altercation with the enigmatic forward.
“Its ok, that’s fine. I’m blind, anyway,” he added.
Despite Abueva’s insulting actions, Gallent got the ultimate revenge as San Miguel soundly defeated Magnolia 109-85.
Abueva struggled mightily, scoring only 3 points in 17 minutes while plagued by foul trouble.
To make matters worse for Abueva, who was celebrating his 36th birthday, he got into a heated exchange with the wife of San Miguel’s Mo Tautuaa inside the dugout.
Rather than get caught up in Abueva’s offensive taunting, Gallent kept his focus and led his team to victory.
