June Mar Fajardo brings home record-extending 10th BPC award

June Mar Fajardo made history in the PBA by securing his 10th Best Player of the Conference award, extending his record in the league’s 48-year history.

The 6-foot-10 San Miguel main man dominated the competition, earning a total of 1,100 points to clinch the prestigious award.

Tied with Robert Bolick of NLEX in statistical points at 472, Fajardo secured his victory with a strong lead in both media votes (514) and players’ votes (114).

During a ceremony before Game 4 of the Philippine Cup finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Fajardo was joined by his SMB teammates as they celebrated his remarkable achievement.

Commissioner Willie Marcial, San Miguel governor Robert Non, and Meralco counterpart Atty. Bill Pamintuan were also present to honor Fajardo’s historic accomplishment.

Despite a strong showing from rookie Stephen Holt, who finished as the runner-up with 651 points, Fajardo’s consistent excellence throughout the season could not be denied.

Bolick, who led NLEX from the eliminations to the playoffs, settled for third place with 641 points, falling short due to his team’s early exit in the semifinals.

CJ Perez of San Miguel and Christian Standhardinger of Brgy. Ginebra rounded out the top five.

Perez’s impressive performance earned him fourth place with 503 points, while Standhardinger’s contributions landed him in fifth place with 476 points.

Fajardo’s historic achievement solidifies his legacy as one of the greatest players in PBA history, setting a new standard of excellence for future generations to aspire to.
