June Mar Fajardo drops 21 as Gilas Pilipinas slips past Alab in tune-up match

The Gilas Pilipinas Men’s team pulled off a 98-95 squeaker over San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in a tune-up match in preparation for the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian Games, Monday evening at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.
SMB big man June Mar Fajardo topscored for the national team with 21 points, with 12 coming in the payoff period, while TNT sniper Roger Pogoy contributed 15.
Gilas had a comfortable 9-point advantage, 92-83, going into the final 3 minutes of the match before Fil-Am Jeremiah Grey led Alab’s last ditch rally which ultimately fell short.
Stanley Pringle and Vic Manuel chipped in 10 markers apiece while Christian Standhardinger and Japeth Aguilar both added 9.
Former SMB reserve Louie Vigil paced the Philippine representative to the ASEAN Basketball League with 18 points while Brandon Rosser, younger brother of San Miguel’s Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, added 17. Grey finished with 14.
Gilas missed the services of Troy Rosario while Alab played without Renaldo Balkman.
The two teams clash again on November 11.
