June Mar Fajardo on track for 6th straight MVP award

June Mar Fajardo is well on his way to clinching an unprecedented 6th straight Most Valuable Player award.

The 30-year old San Miguel main man topped the statistical race for the year-end plum with an average of 39.6 SPs, way ahead of his closest pursuer who happens to be Columbian super rookie CJ Perez. The top overall pick of the 2018 draft finished with 33.47 SPs.

Running third is NorthPort’s do-it-all forward Sean Anthony with 33.46 SPs while Brgy. Ginebra’s Stanley Pringle and TNT’s Roger Pogoy rounded up the top five with 31.8 and 31.7 SPs, respectively.

Aside from Fajardo, who was named as the Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference, Jayson Castro, Christian Standhardinger and Perez are the other contenders for the top individual award of the league’s 44th season.

Castro bagged the BPC plum for the Commissioner’s Cup while Standhardinger took home the award in the season-ending Governors’ Cup.

The top performers for the past season will be given their respective citations during the LEO Awards which will be held simultaneous with the opening of Season 45 on March 1.
