The trade that sent three San Miguel players plus the team’s first round picks in the upcoming rookie draft and in 2020 to Terrafirma for CJ Perez was finally approved by the PBA trade committee Tuesday afternoon.
And with the deal being official, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Russel Escoto and Gelo Alolino took to Instagram to say their goodbyes to their former team.
“Grateful for it all! I appreciate all my teammates, coaches, support staff, and Management at San Miguel. Will cherish the memories I made on and off the court and the relationships that go way beyond the basketball court,” wrote Ganuelas-Rosser.
“Wish them nothing but the best. To the San Miguel fans I want to say a huge THANK YOU!! You accepted and supported me and my family since the day I became a Beerman! I will truly miss you all! I’m excited for what the future holds,” added the 30-year old Fil-Am.
The former TNT player begged off from taking part in the 2020 Philippine Cup inside the PBA bubble in Clark, Pampanga to spend more time with his family in the US.
“Thank you San Miguel Management, the Bosses, Coaches, Teammates, Supporting Staff and the Fans,” wrote Escoto.
“It was a short stint but I learned a lot from this team and will always feel blessed to have played with the Beermen. I wish all of you the best and more power. God bless you all,” he added.
The 28-year old Escoto started his career with the Terrafirma franchise in 2016 as part of the Gilas special draft. He was dealt to NorthPort in 2019 for a pair of big men and ended up with SMB in one-on-one trade for Kelly Nabong just four months later.
“Thank you SMB organization for the opportunity. Learned a lot from the experiences. A short but sweet stint,” wrote Alolino.
The 14th overall pick of the 2016 draft spent his first 2 seasons with the Phoenix Fuel Masters. He found his way to Blackwater where he stayed for one uneventful year. He was picked up by the Beermen from the unrestricted free agent pool and signed to a one-year deal prior to Season 45.
