Marcio Lassiter out of preseason tourney due to fractured nose

San Miguel suffered another blow in its preparation for the upcoming 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
Marcio Lassiter sat out the Beermen’s preseason match against the NLEX Road Warriors in the Phoenix Super Basketball Tournament due to a fractured nose.
The 32-year old Fil-Am sustained the injury after getting elbowed during the team’s tune-up game last week against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters which the Beermen won, 77-63.
Lassiter’s injury is the latest bad break for the defending All-Filipino champs after main man June Mar Fajardo was diagnosed with a complete fracture on his right tibia and has been ruled out for the duration of the season-opening conference.
One good thing going, though, for the Leo Austria-mentored squad is that Lassiter will be good to go once the Philippine Cup kicks-off on March 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen, who will take on Magnolia in the lone game after the opening ceremony, are gunning for a 6th straight Philippine Cup title and 2nd straight Perpetual Cup trophy.
