PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial is waiting for the decision of San Miguel team officials regarding the fight which happened during practice last Sunday at the Upper Deck gym before coming up with his own course of action.
“Hinihintay lang namin kung anong hakbang ng San Miguel kasi ayaw din naman naming pag na-sanction sila, isa-sanction pa rin namin sila,” said Marcial.
According to sources from within the team, management is still in the process of reviewing the incident which allegedly started when veteran Arwind Santos set a hard pick for import Dez Wells which the latter didn’t take lightly. Tempers flared between the two with Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong taking sides and eventually joining the commotion.
Once San Miguel releases its verdict on the unfortunate incident which transpired during the 30th birthday of June Mar Fajardo, the league can now determine the necessary steps to take.
“Kakausapin ko pa rin sila kahit na sa tingin ko sapat na yung ginawa ng koponan sa kanila,” said the amiable league executive.
The Beermen are set to return to action today, November 20, against the TNT KaTropa in a match which will determine whether or not the Grand Slam-chasing team will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
It is unclear, however, who between Wells and John Holland will suit up for the crucial game tonight.
