Ramon Ang personally donates ₱100 million as SMC aid surpasses ₱850 million

Tycoon Ramon S. Ang couldn’t have handed a perfect assist than in this time of the coronavirus pandemic.

The president and chief executive officer of San Miguel Corporation made a personal donation of P100 million to help the country managed the impact of the virus.

Ang, owner of champion PBA ballclubs Barangay Ginebra, Magnolia, and San Miguel, and his family also offered P100 million to the ‘Project Ugnayan’ initiative, which is a broad coalition of business groups in cooperation with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation to help poor families that were economically displaced by the ongoing Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.

The financial assistance provided by Ang is part of the help extended by the conglomerate firm nationwide amid the worldwide pandemic being faced by the country.

So far, the SMC aid has surpassed P850 million and is expected to further increase as Ang reiterated the firm’s continued support throughout the health crisis.

SMC has so far provided financial support for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for medical front-liners, donated canned goods, meat products, rice, among others to vulnerable communities through the Local Government Units (LGUs), as well as ethyl alcohol for disinfection.
