San Miguel sends Arwind Santos to NorthPort for Vic Manuel

In a stunning development, San Miguel has decided to part ways with veteran wingman Arwind Santos.

The 40-year old native of Angeles City was dealt to NorthPort in exchange for journeyman forward Vic Manuel on Monday, November 8.

The one-for-one swap was instantly approved by the PBA’s trade committee.

Manuel, along with Michael Calisaan, was acquired just recently by the Batang Pier from the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters in exchange for Sean Anthony, Sean Maganti and a 2021 2nd round pick. He will make his return to the team that chose him 9th overall in the 2012 draft. The 34-year old native of Licab, Nueva Ecija also had stints with the Meralco Bolts, Air21 Express and with the Alaska Aces.

Santos, meanwhile, will be suiting up for his third team in league after Air21 and SMB. The former FEU King Tamaraw spent his first 3 seasons with the Express before taking his act to the Beermen in 2009. He won 9 championships and bagged 2 Finals MVP in the process. He has 2 Best Player of the Conference citations tucked under his belt and 1 MVP award.

He was named 9 times to the Mythical First team, 7 times to the All Defensive team and is a member of the 40 Greatest PBA Players club.
