San Miguel to field John Holland in crucial game against TNT

San Miguel has tapped replacement import John Holland to reinforce the team for its crucial match against the TNT KaTropa, Wednesday November 20 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The development was disclosed by SMB coach Leo Austria through Tiebreaker Times.

The decision was arrived at apparently after original import Dez Wells got involved in an ugly brawl which happened during the team’s practice last Sunday at the Upper Deck gym.

Aside from Wells, 3 other players – namely Arwind Santos, Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong were part of the physical altercation.

Insiders bared that the 4 players were temporarily barred from attending practices while management is conducting an internal investigation on the incident.

Holland, who finished with 10 points and 10 boards in a forgettable debut game for the Beermen, will have another chance to prove his worth during the 7:00pm game against its bitter PBA and corporate rival.

A win by the Beermen will prop the team up to 4th place and along with it a twice-to-beat incentive in the quarterfinals. A winning margin of 14 or more will push the team further up to 3rd spot. A loss, on the other hand, will drop and team to 5th place and an early meeting with Brgy. Ginebra.
