WATCH: San Miguel vs Blackwater [2020 Philippine Cup | November 3, 2020]

Ice cold at the start of the bubble, defending champion San Miguel Beermen have heated up considerably and now tote the longest winning streak in the PBA Philippine Cup bubble.

The Beermen, who opened their bubble campaign with back-to-back losses, racked up three straight victories for 4-2 overall counting their win in March, and grabbed a share of third prior to the league’s brief halt in hostilities.

Coach Leo Austria and his charges look to stay hot Tuesday when they face an eager-to-return Blackwater (2-3) side in a rare morning duel that actually kicks off the very first four-game bill in the PBA’s storied history.

Game time for SMB-Blackwater is at 10 a.m. at the AUF Gym Powered by Smart 5G.

The six-peat-seeking Beermen and the Elite, as with the rest of the field, brace themselves for a very challenging grind heading to the stretch of the elims, where teams play at least five games over the next nine days.

“Hindi pa namin alam ano magiging impact sa amin. Para kaming naglalaro sa international competition. Pero lahat naman ng teams dadaan sa ganyan so it’s a matter of adjusting to the situation,” said Austria.

The Beermen are up against Blackwater, a squad that’s determined to overcome the odds.
