San Miguel def Terrafirma, 122-102 [PBA S47 Govs’ Cup | Feb. 3, 2023]

Terrafirma has brought down one giant in the PBA Governors’ Cup and is bent on bringing down another.

But the San Miguel Beermen are an even bigger colossus and should prove to be much more than the Dyip could handle when they collide at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Beermen are looking to stretch their winning start to the season-ending conference at 3-0 while the Dyip are targeting a fitting follow-up to their 96-88 shocker over Meralco last Saturday and in the process improve to 2-1.

Terrafirma should have their hands full since SMB coach Jorge Gallent has practically admitted his team was already looking forward to Friday’s game as early as in the course of the Beermen’s 105-86 win over Blackwater last Wednesday.

“It’s good we played the first game today so we have time to rest for the game on Friday. We just have to prepare tomorrow (Thursday) for Terrafirma,” said Gallent before baring his team’s attitude after erecting as much as a 30-point lead over the Bossing.

“You know, make it quick and go home and save the legs for Friday because Terrafirma also has… they came from a win so their confidence is high also,” he stated.

Indeed, Terrafirma coach believes his team, led by exciting import Jordan Williams and top local scorer Juami Tiongson, should be able to pull off more surprises and begin shedding its perennial also-ran tag this time around.
