San Miguel not vulnerable without June Mar Fajardo, says Yeng Guiao

San Miguel will be going into the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart without superstar big man June Mar Fajardo.
The Beermen were already without their injured center when they won against Magnolia with plenty to spare during the season opener last March 8.
Aside from the 6-time PBA MVP, not in the roster for the ‘bubble season’ are Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, who opted to stay in the US due to family matters, and Chico Lanete. Taking their places are rookie Daniel de Guzman and returnee Louie Vigil.
Against the Hotshots, the Beermen were humming like a well-oiled machine and hardly looked like a team missing their main man.
“They’re saying June Mar is not playing and maybe San Miguel is vulnerable. But the way they played their first game, they didn’t look as such,” said NLEX Road Warriors head coach Yeng Guiao.
“They’re probably a lot quicker with more balanced scoring because they won’t depend on June Mar a lot this time,” he added.
Mo Tautuaa proved that there is life even without the 6-foot-10 Cebuano by leading the defending champs with 20 points and 11 rebounds on top of 2 assists, 2 blocks and a steal during the opening day win which the team will carry into the All-Filipino resumption.
The Beermen resume their title defense on Tuesday, October 13 when they lock horns with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 4:00pm at the Angeles University Foundation gym.
