SMB among teams on Vic Manuel’s wish list

San Miguel is one of Vic Manuel’s preferred destinations in the event that Alaska heeds the trade request of its star player.

The league’s winningest franchise, along with NLEX and Phoenix, were the three teams that the 33-year old forward mentioned when asked where he would like to play after going public with his desire to be traded.

Manuel recently met with Aces head coach Jeff Cariaso to personally inform him of his decision.

Phoenix, understandably, is on top of the Muscle Man’s short list.

“Sabi niya pwede ako sa Phoenix kasi makakasama ko si Calvin,” said Manuel’s agent Danny Espiritu, quoting the Licab, Nueva Ecija native who considers Abueva as one of his closest friends.

“Pwede rin ako sa NLEX kasi gusto ko si coach (Yeng Guiao). Pwede rin naman ako sa San Miguel kasi kaibigan ko si Arwind (Santos). Pero pwede rin naman ako kahit saang team,” he added.

While Manuel has already conveyed his desire to have a fresh start elsewhere, Cariaso advised the disgruntled player to be a little more patient.

“Sabi ni coach (Cariaso) okay mag-uusap kami ni manager (Dickie Bachmann) tungkol sa sinabi mo,” said Espiritu after the Friday night meeting between the two.

“Tapos huwag ka lang magmadali kasi ang hirap namang i-trade ka kasi kailangan naman yung makukuha naming player ay equal value,” added the long-time sports agent.
