Terrence Romeo exits Pampanga bubble to have Achilles injury checked

Terrence Romeo is scheduled to undergo an Achilles examination on Monday to verify the condition of his injury which he sustained in San Miguel’s 110-80 victory over Phoenix Super LPG.

The PBA three-time scoring champion left Pampanga bubble on Saturday and underwent an MRI test the following day.

SMB resident physical therapist Edward Bacason reported that the pain was located in Romeo’s right Achilles tendon.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jorge Canlas will evaluate the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals MVP’s injury.

Romeo, 29, averaged 19 points on 47% shooting from the field to go along with 2.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this conference.

The 5-foot-10 guard out of FEU suffered a hyperextended knee injury last month during the Beermen’s season opener against the Meralco Bolts. He has so far seen action in only 6 games.

The 27-time PBA champs are expected to end its 2021 PBA Philippine Cup elimination round campaign without their leading scorer.
