Terrence Romeo expected to miss some games for SMB

San Miguel is expected to miss the services of flashy playmaker Terrence Romeo for a number of games in the elimination round of the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.

The 29-year old Romeo hyperextended his left knee in the opening minutes of the final frame of the Beermen’s season opener against the Meralco Bolts.

While the team heaved a sigh of relief after initial diagnosis revealed no serious damage, the Leo Austria-mentored squad is not taking any chances.

The 2019 Commissioner’s Cup Finals MVP is set for an appointment with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. George Canlas.

“Meron (ma-miss na games). Malaman natin yung timeline once ma checkup siya ni Dr. Canlas,” said SMB physical therapist Edward Bacason who accompanied Romeo to the St. Luke’s Medical Center shortly after the Beermen’s 93-87 loss to the Bolts for the initial MRI test.

“Intact naman lahat ng ligaments ni Terrence Walang tear sa ACL, meniscus, and MCL,” he added.

Despite leaving the game early in the payoff period, Romeo still topped the Beermen in scoring with 18 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor to go along with 3 boards and 2 assists.
