Terrence Romeo rejoins SMB practices

Terrence Romeo has rejoined San Miguel’s practices, which is a positive development for the team. This is especially significant as the Beermen have been dealing with injuries at the start of PBA Season 48.
Romeo had been sidelined for almost a month due to a bone contusion on his leg, which he sustained during the Beermen’s victory over the Meralco Bolts on November 20.
SMB physiotherapist Edward Bacason confirmed the development. This raises hopes that Romeo might be able to play when the Beermen face the reigning Commissioner’s Cup champions, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, on Friday.
Currently, the Beermen hold the sixth spot with an even 3-3 record. They have recently suffered consecutive losses against the NorthPort Batang Pier and the league-leading Magnolia Hotshots.
The potential return of Romeo would greatly benefit the league’s winningest franchise, especially considering the recent loss of their seven-time league Most Valuable Player, June Mar Fajardo, due to a hand injury sustained against Rain or Shine.
The 34-year-old Fajardo is expected to be out for more than a month according to the team doctor’s estimate.
Alongside Fajardo, offseason acquisition Jeron Teng and Vic Manuel are also currently on the injury list. Teng is still recovering from a hamstring injury, while Manuel recently underwent minor knee surgery.
Despite these setbacks, the Beermen remain optimistic about their playoff chances, particularly with the addition of Don Trollano through a three-team trade last Monday.
