Terrence Romeo set to return to action after full recovery from ankle injury

Following a full recovery from an ankle injury, three-time PBA scoring champion Terrence Romeo is set to return to the court in the ongoing PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.

The injury had unfortunately sidelined him from participating in San Miguel’s triumphant run in the recent Commissioner’s Cup.

Romeo, who will be celebrating his 32nd birthday this month, was able to see action in the first two games of the championship series that saw the Beermen conquer the Magnolia Hotshots with a 4-2 victory. However, due to the severity of his ankle injury, the medical team was compelled to withdraw him from further games.

SMB physiotherapist Edward Bacason disclosed that the respite since the conclusion of the Finals provided a sufficient window for the flamboyant guard to heal, recuperate, and undergo necessary therapy.

Romeo has now re-engaged with the Beermen’s practice drills in preparation for the upcoming All-Filipino conference.

The Beermen are slated to commence their Philippine Cup title defense on the 15th of March, facing off against Rain or Shine.

Romeo’s tenure with the San Miguel team during the import-laden conference has been intermittently hampered by injuries. The fifth pick in the 2013 PBA Draft missed the entire best-of-five semifinals series against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. He was, however, able to participate in the first two games of the best-of-seven championship series against the Hotshots.

Despite the challenges, Romeo held a commendable average of 12.8 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in the 10 games he played in the previous conference.
