Clark welcomed the PBA with open arms as the 12 teams checked in one by one in the bubble for the pro league’s much-awaited Oct. 11 restart.
Bases Conversion and Development Corp. president and CEO Vince Dizon and Clark Development Corp. chief Noel Manankil said Clark is pleased to host the PBA as it leads the way in bringing back sports in the new normal.
“This bubble has been specifically designed to ensure the safety and health of the players who will be inside the bubble,” Dizon said in an online press conference also attended by PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial.
“We’ve used the protocols of successful sports bubbles in the world like the NBA, NHL and MLS in the US and we will ensure the integrity of the bubble not only as the players enter but throughout the next three months the PBA will be playing here,” Dizon added.
The first five teams arrived in Clark last Monday after undergoing pre-arrival protocols (PCR testing and mandatory five-day home quarantine).
They await the results of the entry swabbing procedure in their rooms at Quest Hotel and once results are out, they’re cleared to hold scrimmages at the Angeles University Foundation facilities.
