WATCH: San Miguel vs NorthPort Game Highlights [PBA S47 Govs’ Cup | Feb. 15, 2023]
San Miguel quickly bounced back from a loss and stayed in step with co-leader TNT with a 145-132 drubbing of winless NorthPort in the PBA Governors Cup at the MOA Arena in Pasay City Wednesday.
Cameron Clark put in his usual stuff while June Mar Fajardo redeemed himself from a mere seven-point job the last time as the Beermen sprang back from a 107-103 upset by the Converge FiberXers on Saturday.
CJ Perez and Marcio Lassiter had their own solid redemption efforts as the Beermen regained winning footing ahead of their much-anticipated showdown with the Barangay Ginebra Kings Friday over at the Big Dome.
Clark stood his ground versus Kevin Murphy, coming through with 44 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while Fajardo had his own monstrous game with 29 markers and 12 boards.
Perez contributed 24 points while Lassiter chipped in 16 markers and seven assists as the Beermen asserted themselves in their 13-point disposal of the hardluck Batang Pier.
And the Beermen stayed tied with the Tropang Giga at the helm with their identical 6-1 slates.
The Batang Pier, on the other hand, remained in hunt for an elusive first win even with Murphy, Arvin Tolentino and Robert Bolick piling up big numbers.
Murphy submitted a 39-13-2 point-rebound-assist tally in his second outing with the team, Tolentino erupted for 32 while Bolick logged in 16 markers, 10 dish-offs and five caroms.
