San Miguel is still awaiting the official diagnosis of the Terrence Romeo’s MRI but initial results were encouraging, as per SMB team manager Gee Abanilla.

The 29-year old Romeo, who made a comeback against the Meralco Bolts on Sunday after missing all but three of the Beermen’s games inside the PBA bubble in Clark, Pampanga last season, appeared to have twisted his ankle and hyperextended his knee while maneuvering a crossover during the opening minutes of the payoff period against the Bolts.

He eventually lost possession of the ball and held onto his left knee. The three-time PBA scoring champion was then led into the dugout before proceeding to St. Lukes Medical Center for an MRI.

“May narinig daw siya na nag-pop sa left knee niya,” said SMB physical therapist Edward Bacason.

Abanilla didn’t divulge any details about the initial diagnosis and refused to provide a timeline for Romeo’s return.

“We have to wait for the doctor’s assessment first. Initial MRI results look good, but we have to wait for the doctor’s opinion and official diagnosis upon his checkup soon. But at least we feel good about it,” wrote Abanilla in a text message to ESPN5.
