WATCH: The Athletes’ Tribune with Chris Ross and Kalei Mau!

San Miguel veteran Chris Ross couldn’t ask for a better gift as the Beermen demolished the Magnolia Hotshots a day before his 35th birthday to kick off the team’s PBA Philippine Cup title defense bid on a winning note.

And among the 9,000 fans who trooped to the Big Dome to witness the lone game as well as the opening ceremonies of the league’s 45th season was volleyball star Kalei Mau who was cheering passionately for the Fil-Am guard.

The 24-year old Mau plays for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the Philippine Super Liga and was recently named MVP of the All-Filipino Conference.

“We push each other. She’s amazing on her sport, and I told her I just want to keep up with her. We keep each other motivated, and we hold each other accountable,” claimed Ross during an interview with SPIN Life.

“She feeds me well, she makes me try to eat good, try to get some good sleep, and it’s all good. She’s amazing and I’m happy to have her by my side,” he added.

For her part, Mau shared a photo of the two on her Instagram account and wrote “Treats me like a Queen and reminds me that I am one. Happy Birthday to the most selfless man I know. The room for growth we have together excites me.”
