It’s San Miguel’s turn to go for back-to-back and TNT a fightback as these combatants clash in the third game of their PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven championship series at the MOA Arena in Pasay City Friday.
Striking back in Game 2, 109-100, the Beermen seek a follow-up win while the Tropang Giga try to continue standing their ground minus had coach Chot Reyes.
Tip-off is at 5:45 p.m. with the Beermen and the Tropa fighting for the breaker in what is now a best-of-five affair.
Both sides are saying it’s still anybody’s series and they have a long way to go in what could become a war of attrition.
No doubt, though, that it’s crucial for the Beermen to even up Wednesday, foiling TNT’s bid to establish a commanding 2-0 lead.
“We’re so happy nanalo kami at hindi kami na 2-0 kasi mahirap na makabawi from 2-0 deficit,” said San Miguel coach Leo Austria.
The SMB mentor pointed out the players’ pride was pricked by their 86-84 defeat in Game 1, giving them the desire and motivation to fight with a killer’s instinct in Game 2.
